Colleen literally picked me up and took me into her care when I came out of 18 months of lockdown in the most brutal kind of treatment program you can imagine. I had not been in the world for 3 years prior to that due to severe illnesses and was so traumatised suffering from CPTSD which went undiagnosed from a very early age.
Colleen, being an empath and highly sensitive person (HSP) like me, understood me from the get-go and referred me to the right Psychiatrist who knew how acute my tolerance of any form of drugs was. Colleen promised me that she would be in my corner when nobody else was and she has stood firm on her promise to this day, it’s an unspoken covenant she made with God and I and has never faltered.
Colleen treated me with exposure therapy, which literally exposes the trauma and makes room for such a complex mix of emotions, she has been my light in the darkness and without fail, she is there. As a result of her loyalty, authenticity, compassion, mercy, and integrity I started a business straight out of rehab. Colleen has rooted for me all the way, never ever failing to catch me when I fall and as a result, my business is booming, and I am not only 2 years clean, but I am so blessed to have her as my councilor, sponsor and mentor. Her knowledge and understanding of addiction counseling and dual diagnosis related to trauma is so extensive and there is never a day that I don’t learn something incredible from Colleen.
